PARTIAL SIDEWALK CLOSURE
As construction of the new school is progressing, the construction company needs to close off a
portion of the sidewalk to complete some necessary work. They will be working hard during
Spring Break to try to minimize the amount of time the sidewalk will be closed during the school
year to minimize the disruption of students walking to/from school.
From after school on Friday, April 2, 2021 until approximately Wednesday, April 14, 2021, the
following sections will be temporarily closed:
- The sidewalk on the north side of 9th street heading east. It will be closed right
after the crosswalk.
-The west side of Polk Ave. just after 9th Street

If your student(s) is impacted by this closure, we ask that they please cross with the crossing
guard on 9th Street in front of Horace Mann. This will allow them access to a sidewalk as they
continue east up 9th Street. Once they get to the corner of 9th and Polk Ave., a flagman will be
there before and after school to help the students cross the street.
